Overview
Non-fusion scoliosis correction, also known as anterior scoliosis correction or vertebral body tethering (VBT), is an alternative to the standard spinal fusion operation. Only a limited number of experienced surgeons globally perform this innovative procedure, which addresses scoliosis while preserving spinal growth potential. The surgeon accesses the spine from the side using small incision portals with endoscopic visualisation, placing screws into the vertebral bodies and connecting them with a flexible cord that realigns the spine.
